- Developing the databases ULYSSEI@S, a digital encyclopedia of “displaced” writers and other creators; PASSAGEN, centred on German-speaking artists and intellectuals exiled in Portugal; and EUROPE FACING EUROPE, which explores the ways in which artistic creation interrogates and reinvents the identity and borders of post-1945 Europe.
- Carrying out research and write entries on different topics related to the construction of spatial identities and the literary and artistic expression of social phenomena that structure Europe nowadays, such as travel, migrations and exile.
- Researching and creating digital content and visual materials, namely images, videos, photos, posters and graphs for the Intersexualities online platforms.
- Developing promotional plans in social networks such as Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
- Photographing and video recording outreach activities that might be organized.

The group welcomes contributions from specialists working on Migration and Exile Studies; Postcolonial Studies; Studies in Travel Writing; Translation Studies; Theatre Studies; Crime Literature; and Digital Humanities, and other related areas, who, among other tasks, may help with the research for the databases.

An international work environment will be offered, as well as the unique opportunity to participate in activities that will grow in direct proportion to their work. Trainees are expected to have a very good command of English, or French or Portuguese, and are required to bring a personal computer with all the software required for the task presented.

INTER-/TRANSCULTURALITIES aims at studying literary constructions of OTHERNESS, departing from the concepts of DIALOGISM, TRANSCULTURALITY, BORDERCROSSING, CENTER AND MARGIN. The Otherness is a condition for the construction of identity, implying dislocation, inclusion and exclusion – and also memory and forgetfulness. Our concern will be to explore cultural imaginaries of a plural Europe through a dialogue between literary representations and other social and artistic discourses, using critical tools from different fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, taking into account different cultural perspectives and the points of view of literature and aesthetics.
